It is amazing how Lego has changed over the years. When my children were young we bought them a large tub of Lego and expected them to make wonderful creations from the pieces. Today you can still buy an assortment of Lego pieces such as the Lego Ultimate Building Set – 405 Pieces that was on the most wished for list for Christmas 2010. However more and more Lego is being sold in themed sets. The Lego Hogwarts Board Game is one of these sets and is forecasted to be one of the most sought after gifts this Christmas.
Lego Hogwart’s Board Game Includes
This set consist of 332 Lego pieces, 1 buildable Lego Die, 9 Lego Micro Figures (the popular Harry Potter characters), instructions, and rules. The game board takes about ½ hour to assemble and one of the best points is that other Lego pieces can be added to it. The ability to customize the board means that the degree of difficulty can be changed from one game to another.
Children can pick their favorite character and then role-play in the character’s mode. The premise of the game is to see who can finish their homework first all the while visiting the various buildable classrooms, scoping up materials for the task, conquering obstacles, and avoiding traps.
The Lego Hogwarts Board Game can be adapted so it is suitable for most ages 4 and up. By alternating the pieces the degree of difficulty can be changed to suit the ages playing. This interactive game encourages strategic thinking, role-playing, and imagination. It is fun for everyone!
Rating and Reviews
This Harry Potter board game is fantastic. It is very durable, very fun for Lego or board game fans. This board game is very durable, I’ve dropped the Lego pieces many times, even when they’re stacked, nothing ever cracked or broke, also it is a very fun game for Lego fans because you get to build your own scenario of the game using your Lego imagination, with Lego. Furthermore it is a fun game for board game fans because, it is a board game, with character a die, a create-it-yourself-board. It is a very fun toy over all!
My 6 year old, 3.5 year old, and myself played this for the first time tonight and had a blast. In all seriousness, this was the most fun we had playing a board game ever. It’s not all luck either, particularly when you are playing with 3 or more there’s a decent amount of strategy (i.e. on some rolls, you have a choice between making the game harder for an opponent vs. easier for yourself). I had to help the youngest with the strategy so that he didn’t lose really badly, but within 10 minutes he completely understood the basic gameplay, rules, and goals.
