What Are Others saying About the LeapFrog LeapPad Platinum Kids Learning Tablet?

LeapFrog LeapPad Platinum Kids Learning Tablet The LeapFrog LeapPad Platinum Kids Learning Tablet has a 4.2 out of a 5 star rating on Here are some of the comments by owners:

What an amazing tool for getting my kid excited about learning. She has been an avid sponge of knowledge from day one, but now it feels a lot more like fun. I even get wrapped up in it and am forced to hand it back over to it’s rightful owner. A great investment in my daughters future. I can’t wait to explore other LeapFrog products!
I am in complete awe over this device. I homeschool my youngest and I have implemented the LeapPad Platinum into our school work every day. She is learning and playing with her favorite pups (She loved the Paw Patrol ImagiCards) all while learning how to add, subtract and so much more. My oldest, who is 6, is also in love the LeapPad. Her favorite game is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because it is a little hard and challenging. Can you believe that a 6-year-old is already starting to add and subtract fractions?? Thanks to Leonardo and the game. If you have ever been considering getting a LeapPad, now is the time.

am super impressed with this LeapPad! It’s well made, offers a lot of features, and it’s easy to use. She loves it, and even I am having fun with it! The colors are bright, and the graphics are clear. The LeapPad feels very durable in my hands, and I believe it will survive any accidents that may occur. The stylus is attached and easy to hold, even for smaller hands. It can be unlooped and removed if needed. It was easy to set up and we had it running in just a couple of moments after it was charged.”
“My grandkids love this. They both had the older, smaller tablets that they used for years and had gotten to the point where Dad thought they had outgrown them and was considering upgrading to iPad minis. Mom had reservations about that since they use them primarily in the backseat on commutes and there wouldn’t be the direct supervision needed. Ages 6 and 4, they are pretty advanced readers and in keeping with their generation they are fearless and adept when it comes to electronic devices. This Platinum tablet was the perfect solution. The controls on this are as basic as the other tablets so very young users will have no problem. The screen is big and easy to navigate and the two cameras (front and back) are quite good for the purposes of this device. The only awkward button is the volume, it is on the back slightly close to the edge so can be accidentally pressed while game playing. Probably not good if the user is next to a sleeping baby for instance. The tablet is very easy to set up – you will need a computer and Internet – and comes with a nice little variety of activities and games to get started. Best of all the games on the plastic smart card type cartridges for the old Leap Pads work in this one too. Most of the games designed specifically for this one that are found in stores are a bit pricey but The parental feature on this gives you access to an online store with lots of downloadable games prices from $3.99 and up. There are some free demos too. The kids loved this tablet so much that, in addition to the green one I received through Vine in order to review the Paw Patrol game, I had to go out and buy another one so they could use them together. Sharing is great, but now that they each have one they can play turn-based games, without WiFi, just by being next to each other. There is a special secure child web site that they can go to with WiFi but we weren’t able to access it. We think this may be a compatibility problem since my son-in-law has an Apple router. He did have to reset and install the setup on the first tablet twice before it worked properly using a Mac. But the second tablet had absolutely no problems so that may have been a fluke. I deducted on star for the WiFi issue. I hope to be able to get with him and call Leap Frog support to solve this issue very soon. I’ll update my review at that time.

In reading the many reviews of this tablet, I am struck with some of the expectations parents have of it. We found that our three-year-old granddaughters were thrilled to have their own tablets. With these LeapFrog LeapPads they could be just like Mommy and Daddy. As they got older they then began to explore the other features of these devices. Even now that they are six and have access to other electronic devices they still use their LeapPads. For the very affordable cost of the LeapFrog LeapPad Platinum Kids Learning Tablet I would highly recommend it.
